Navigating the Auto Accident Process
at Power Inn Chiropractic
Dealing with a car crash can be overwhelmingly scary, leaving many people feeling vulnerable and unsure of what steps to take next. If you had been in a crash, just know you don’t have to do it alone. From helping your recovery, describing any permanent injuries, advising if an attorney is needed and billing your insurance, we are here to help you through every step of the process.
If possible, it is also wise to take pictures of the cars involved in the crash. Save them in a safe place as they could be useful for an attorney or insurance report. It is one thing to say you have a headache as a result of the crash and quite another thing to say you have a headache because of the crash and here are the pictures of my car.
California is an “at fault” state, meaning that the person who caused the accident is at fault and is responsible for your injuries. If the person responsible for your injuries does not have adequate insurance, if available, your uninsured motorist’s portion of your insurance policy may kick in.
What to Bring With You
When coming in for your first visit, it is very helpful to bring the following:
- All insurance information that you have from the at-fault person as well as the declaration page of your insurance.
- A copy of the crash report.
- If you have an attorney, bring their information as well.
Since the late 1980s, Proposition 103 and the California Insurance code §491 protect you from your insurance raising your rates for an accident that is not your fault.
